Hello,

After reading a previous post on this board about a member installing an aftermarket navigation system, I decided that I too wanted to remove the factory stereo currently in my 04 RX330 I have the standard audio package, no navigation system, no mark levinson package. I am planning on replacing factory unit with double din dvd player/monitor similar to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/...I...p;rd=1&rd=1

I have a few questions about doing the installation. I bought the radio adapter that was being sold on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/...P...6133&rd=1,1

So the first question is how do I remove the factory stereo?

The second is how do I go about using the stock amp in this process?

The third would be any overall suggestions?

Thanks

this guy was installing an ipod port in his car, but he removed his headunit, or some of it so it should give you a start.

This is the outcome of my aftermarket navigation system. I decided to go with the Pioneer AVIC-Z1. See attached photo. If you have any questions, please contact me.

I am looking to add a Car PC to my 2004 RX330. The bezel shown in your photo is exactly what I am looking for. Can you please tell me where I can purchase such a bezel?

Thank you,

It looks like the one from Beat Sonic. I've been debating on whether or not to upgrade my system as well (I hate the whole cassette adapter for my ipod setup). His picture is a lot clearer than the one on their website.

So will the steering wheel controls still work? Did you buy any kind of wiring harness adaptor or just the bezel?

Thanks!

So has anyone else replaced the factory radio? Do the steering wheel controls work or can they be made to work with certain head units? What about wiring harness - brand, experience, etc.

Thanks,

A
