lex
Anyone know what the backspace distance is for 92 ES300 factory alloy rims? Thanks.
es3doubleO
I'm not too sure about that but i know that the rim is a 15x6 ( height is 15 inches and the width is 6). If your looking to install aftermarket rims, a rim that is 7 inches wide will fit.
SKperformance
just wondering why you want to know the stock rims offset?
lex
I want to get wider rims so that it looks flush with the body, instead of the recessed factory look. Someone said to make sure that the backspace of the new rims are close to the factory rims or else I will get rubbing.
SKperformance
what size rims are you looking at getting is the first question 40-43mm is the optimal with a 225/40 -18 tire max
lex
I am thinking of 17 inch rims. with 215/50/17 tires? This tire diameter is very close to the 205/65/15 stock diameter. So should I get 17x7 rims? Would the the 7 in. width make the wheels flush with the body?
squarehat
I've got 215/50-17s on 17 x7's (see my sig below). I'm pretty sure the offset on my rims is between +40 and +43, and they're just inside the fenderwell, the tuck is almost identical to the stock rims on a friend's IS300. No rubbing, etc, issues whatsoever.
lex
squarehat do you have any pics of your car? Thanks.
SKperformance
no rim will give the car a flush to the body fit as the tire would then get chunks ripped out when you go over bumps
lex
SK, I didn't mean flush as in no gap showing. I meant like how the BMWs tires are flush with the side body when looking from the front or back and not sunken in.
SKperformance
that is what i meant the bmw have flared fenders allowing the rims on them to sit further outfor a wider track wheel position
