Where is the ECU located on a 96 RHD LS400.? I understand that on a LHD model, the ECU is located underneath the glove box somewhere. Is it in the same place on a RHD? I had a quick peek above the kick panel, and couldn't see anything that resembled a ECU.

Above the glovebox. Way up in there. Remove glovebox to get to it and stand on your head.

Above the glovebox. Do you mean between the glove box and the CD changer area then, or above the CD changer too? Doesn't look like there's a lot of room between the two.
Easy enough to get the glove box out? I'll have a search through here to see if there is any trick to it. I get annoyed if I wind up breaking off little clips etc. and creating a rattle.

You can leave the cd changer in place. Just the glovebox comes out and it's difficult but you can get to it. It's toward the passenger side...there are 2 boxes...the big one is the ecu and the small one is the cruise control computer.
