I am trying to help my son get his 2000 ES300 back on the road. He was hit and runned last week and the front end, above the bumper was smashed. I was able to get the core support straightened out (within reason) and found a decent used hood. His had the deluxe xenon, self leveling headlights which were smashed beyond any chance of salvage. Replacement units are very expensive. He found a pair of the standard halogen lights at a local pick & pull wrecking yard. Does anyone know if I can simply swap them out and install the standard lights with the existing wire harness? If the plugs are different can I splice in the different plugs? Thanks, Joe
Hello all, new member here... I just received my fathers 2004 Lexus RX330 and while the vehicle is in great condition, the headlights are majorly discolored. He was going to get them repaired at the dealership and from what I was told, the mechanic said that the discoloration is on the inside and not the outside so he stopped. Now, I have been looking on Ebay and I can get some replacement headlights, but my question is this. His lights are the Halogen based lights, appears pretty easy to swap out as I have been looking at them. However, what about changing out to the Xeon HID type lights? Has anyone done this? Can it be done? As I am not sure how long I will keep the vehicle I will probably go with the least expensive and easiest method. Just asking... Thanks, I did some searches, but didn't find anything on this.
Did anyone mod the rear turnsignal to have a second bulb per side in the part of the taillight that is in the trunkcover? I know it is a long question. To explain it a little better there is this reflector below the back up light that looks like an extension of the turn signal in the outer tail light. I think it would look cool if that part would light up as well.
