  1. Hi Whit, I see you have a '08 LS 460. I have a '07 and it only hold one set of TPMS codes. I also have two complete sets of winter and summer wheels. I've been driving around all winter with the amber light on that I should bring the vehicle in for service. My '07 LS 460L came with summer tires so the car's computer recognizes the codes for the summer tires. If I have someone take the tire off the rims and get the serial # off the set of TPMS winter tires, will I be able to bring that information to the dealer and have them enter it into their computer and next year when I remount the winter tires I will be able to go to any dealer and they will be able to program the car's computer's so that I will be able to ride around next winter without the amber warning light on? I went to the dealer before I mounted the winter tires and they wanted over $250 for the four tires just to get the TPMS codes. It involves them to dis-mount, re-balance and remount the tire onto the rim. Could get that done from a local tire repair shop for a lot cheaper. BTW-I purchased the winter set of brand new wheels from someone that wanted 19" rims. Why couldn't they make a scanner that was able to get a reading without all that trouble? So if I supply the serial # to the service department it'll be a 10 minute job later this year? TIA, Premium Package With two complete sets of mounted wheels I can change them myself whenever I want. After the changeout I do take them to the dealer to have the TPMS codes entered into the computer. I have a record of the different codes and they just enter them on their laptop and it's done...10 minute job.
  2. I switched over from summer tires to all seasons this past weekend. The all-seasons (brand new) was purchased from a previous owner that wanted 19" rims on his 460L. I know the TPMS is mounted in the all-seasons. But, I cannot get my car's compute to recognize the new tires. Do I need to bring my vehicle back to service and have them re-program my TPMS or is there a more simple solution? I believe I read somewhere that there can be two sets of codes programmed in one's vehicle for different sets of tires. TIA
  3. Jeff, Thank you, thank you. I found that little bugger, reset switch, it should have been label above the right ankle rather then right knee. I used a manual and a digital tire gauge and now all is fine. I will not mess with the reset switch. I believe my dealer set it at 41 PSI and/or had the tires inflated to 41 when I picked up my CPO vehicle last month. I now have them at 33 PSI as recommended. Thank you for your response. Have a nice weekend.
  4. Hi, I have a 2007 LS-460L, went to check the tire pressure before this weekend road trip. Tire pressure reading on muti-information display is off by 5+ PSI then reading from hand held tire gauge. Wanted to do a reset. Search all around below driver steering wheel, above right knee and I cannot locate the reset switch. It's in the owner's manual but I can't locate that darn little button to hold for three seconds. Do I need new glasses or am I missing something? Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. TIA
  5. Sharkey46, When you attempt to transfer the phone data do you get a message on the screen? Does it say "transferring"? If it does then you will have to check you phone setting and see if there's a setting for transferring data. I know I have this feature on my Blackberry and when I did it the first time I had to scroll around and press "allow transfer". I was only able to transfer personal contacts. The business contacts I had to manual input the names into the Nav phonebook. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  6. Hi Lexusfreak, Thanks for your reply. I worked out a deal with the dealer. I am going to swap the General's Exclaim UHP (summer tires) for "slightly used" five Michelins MXM4 (all seasons). I was told that one tire is new and the others four has 9/32 center grooves and 6/32 on the edge. I get to keep the General's. Never dawn on me to look at the tires before I purchased the vehicle. Another lesson learned. The wheels are OEM. They have the "L" on them and they are eight spokes. I will try to post a picture tonight or tomorrow. Thanks again.
  7. Hi, Picked up my CPO '07 LS460L yesterday. Upon inspection there are General's Exclaim tires on the car. Did a quick search and discover Exclaim tires are summer tires and not all seasons. Called dealer he guessed they may have been put on by previous owner. I on the other hand suspect that the service department had them handy and slapped them on. Dealer assured me that the rims are OEM rims. BUT, the service department has four slightly used, "almost brand new" Michelin's Pilots for sale, $600. balance and mounted. Ummm... When purchasing a CPO vehicle do wheels and tires have to be OEM to qualify as CPO? Why is purchasing a vehicle such a stressful and trying experience? Thanking you in advance for your replies.
  8. SW03ES, Thanks for your help. I have read many of your postings on this forum. Can't wait, will pick up the vehicle tomorrow. I will experiment and put my EZ-Pass by the driver door handle well and also in the center storage compartment and see if the sensors picks it up as I go through various tolls. If the green "go" light don't come on then I will just have to put the tag up on the dash. Hopefully I will be able to locate a ideal place so that I won't have to mount it on the window behind the rear view mirror. I will have a lot of reading, owner's manual, tomorrow night. Baby, it's going to be a exciting weekend. Thanks again for your help on behalf the the entire Lexus forum.
  9. Wow, I'm getting a response from one of the long time member of this forum. I am truly honor. I guess I am a little overly anxious and best to wait for the owner's manual and read through it. Though I have been reading parts of it online on the Lexus owner's web site. I had occasion to borrow my daughter's BMW 335xi and the EZ-Pass was kept in the front middle storage compartment and when I approached the Holland Tunnel toll, in the cash lane, the sensors detected the device. She can't mount her's because behind the bimmer rear view mirror is the rain sensors. Of course it could mounted off to the side, but then it'll look real ugly. I know about the exterior ones then again will it interfere with any sensors in that area? Just have to wait a couple more days to find out.
  10. Tex, Thanks for your reply. But, I will be getting a LS 460. So maybe there are sensors there that are not on your IS 250. Just wanted to make sure before I mount the tag onto the velcro strips. But I do appreciate your feedback.
  11. Hi, Newbie. Will be picking up a '07 LS460L in a few days. In the northeast region of the USA we have a pay toll system call E-ZPass. (Not sure if I am allow to post a link to the site). A square box (tag) approximate 3X3 inches electronic device is used for toll collection on highways allowing you to go through marked lanes without stopping. The tag is normally mounted behind the rear view mirror. Are there any sensors on the back of the rear view mirror? If so, anyone that is currently using a E-Z pass, where do you mount your tag? Happy to be part of this forum. Even more anxious to pick up my vehicle in a few days. TIA
