I have a 04 ES 90000 miles and had the injector and fuel system cleaned using the BG system. My Lexus dealer did this and my local shop uses the same BG system. Works great. Don't buy the crap in the can that you dump in the tank. I don't think its a torque converter. My car is very fussy on what type of gas I use. i use BP or Mobil, 89 octane. If I use 87, bad off the start at a light. Get your fuel system cleaned, run good gas, have the plugs been changed? I think at 100000 miles its time. Does your car have sports mode? I don't think the 04 ES comes with sports mode. Just looked through my original brochure and didn't see anything in the options about sports mode. do the simple things first, have a good tech. look at. Good luck, Tim

I can't see any thing. Mine is gone. The whole thing. I think my Lexus dealer or my local shop lost it while checking the cabin filter. I can see why with nothing to hold it on. Found the part on line at Lexuspartsnow.com for about $10.00. $22 at the dealer. I don't use my glove box but still would like it fixed. Hope this helps. Tim

I think my 04 es ate my glasses. Same thing happens to me. I'll take one more look, and give up, and my interior is spotless.

375 for a reman. for my 04 ES. 86000 miles. thats from the dealer, In a bind, holiday weekend. Just had timing belt and water pump and belts replaced, thought the wining sound was from that work. First repair on this car other then normal oil changes, tires, brakes and filters. Can't complain, great car.

Thanks for all the help on this. This is a great car, all the dealer wants is a full tank of gas and it was full when I picked it up. Great time for a test drive. I have all weekend. My 04 is a great car, but if I can get a good trade in, just might go for a 08 or 09. Got time to think about it. Thanks and have good and save holiday. Tim

I have a 2010 ES for a loaner while my 04 ES is at the dealer for some work. How do you turn on the interior light? I only see one small one in the rear area of the car. On the nav. system, how do you set the screen to go dark when on map at night? I had another 2010 ES a couple weeks ago and when I drove home at night the screen changed on its own and this one didn't. But just a few minutes ago I pulled in my garage and it changed. I left work Fri at 11:00p.m. and this car stayed on white. Too bright at night for me, I found out how to turn the brightness down, that helped. Great car, Have it all weekend, nice long test drive. Thanks for any info, might have to sell the 04 and get one of these cars. Tim

Just had my 04 ES in for timing belt, water pump and engine belts. $805 at my Lexus dealer. Car has 85000 miles. Plan on keeping the car for a long time.

I would like to see long term test on the Buick or CTS. Lets say 100000 mile test, service, etc. see what happens.

I would go with a 04 to 06 ES. My 04 ES has been great. 80000 miles with no problems. i driven the new ES, 09'10. Great cars, but If I had to buy another one, I would search auto trader for a used 04-06 first. Just a opinion.

I have Michelin Pilot Exalto on my 04 es, v rated. The Primacy is better tire then mine, but I'm still happy with mine. I think the H rated should be o.k. If you have the money, go with the Primacy

Another recall for Toyota. 400000 Toyota Avalons and 39000 LX 470. Steering shaft on the LX, steering lock bar on the Avalon. Tim

Anyone ever us BG44K fuel air induction system clean up service? Have a 04 ES, runs great, 75000 miles. $120 to have it done. any opinions would be helpful. Thanks. Tim

I have a 04 es, 74000 miles original battery which is getting replaced Mon., drive the car daily, 28 miles round trip min., drove to a store, five min. later, no start. no cranking over, just a tick tick noise.. radio, lights worked, sat for about ten min. after trying to start, started right up. tried two keys, same thing. didn't start with either key. fine now. having charging system checked also. any tips on what went wrong? thanks.
