  1. If you are talking about these guys, I can tell you they are well worth the money. http://www.jjproducts.net/jj_products_htm/...yota/index.html My arm used to kill me with that small armrest. The replacement is much wider, and a little longer.
  2. Did you check the spare tire? It also has a TPMS in it. When you are sure all the tires are at the correct pressure (cold), you can reset the system yourself. The instructions are in your owners manual.
  3. I feel your pain on the heated seat controls. Now, you would most likely use them in the WINTER! You wear gloves in the WINTER! The knobs are hard to grip........why don't they have a rubber cover on them for a better grip? Why don't they have the "wheel" Design like on the ES models? This is not rocket science. If this is the only fault, I will still take the RX for my every day car.
  4. Who is your cellular service provider? I know with Verizon, the cell phone's "phone book" does not "load" into the car's "phone book" (it is a feature that is blocked by them). That would eliminate alot of entering on your part. You are trying to get your hands free system in the Lexus to recognize the Blackberry voice commands. I think you have to have your phone out, use the voice command for the Blackberry, and then it switches over to the Lexus hands free.
  5. This should be in the owners manual, but here goes. To start, press the two outside homelink buttons down and hold them till the red light blinks rapidly. This clears out any codes stored in the system. Then press, at the same time, your remote garage door opener and the button you want to program. Hold the buttons down till the light blinks rapidly again. If the homelink button works by itself, you are done. If not, go up a ladder and look at the garage door motor unit. There should be a "learn" button (red). Press this and a small light in the motor unit will light or blink. You have about 30 seconds to press your homelink unit in the car again (hold it down for about 20 seconds). The next time you press the homelink unit, it should be working correctly. If not, do it all over again (sometimes it takes a second try). Easier to do with two people.
  6. What size tire do you have? Are they 17" or 18"? I have the Goodyear Eagle RS-A 18" on my 2008, and they have a relatively low wear rating (on the outside of the sidewall) of 260. If you calculate 12,000 miles of wear for every "100" amount on the sidewall, then you may get 30,000 under optimum conditions. If you have the 17" tires, they should have a much higher wear rating on the sidewall. You have to make a choice between handling or mileage.
  7. Don't forget the Lexus Brand bottled water. Look in the owners manual under Air Conditioner Filter. On the 2008, there are two "pins" to unscrew on the inside of the glovebox (left & right). The glove box door should then swing down, and the filter housing in front of you. I replaced a filter on my daughters Jetta after about 4 years, and I think a mouse was living in there from all the junk packed in the housing.
  8. I'm sure they would replace the air filter and cabin filter, which you could do yourself. On my wife's ES300, part of the 30,000 service was to change the transmission fluid (dealer recommended every 15,000). On her care there were two drain plugs. I have the 2008 RX-350, and feel it would be just as easy to get at the drain plugs. If you can do it yourself, it is cheap insurance to change the fluids in the transmission. The rest is "check-this" and "check-that".
  9. I have a 2008 RX-350, and want to get winter tires mounted on alloy rims. I do not want to spend $400 for TPMS sensors and $150 to get them programmed into the computer. The dealer said you can run them without the sensors, but the light will come on. I want to take the instrument panel bezel off, and put some black tape over the light (just for the winter). How difficult is it to remove the cover? Does it just snap in and out?
