  1. It's ironic, but I have the exact same problem and searched to find an owner's forum...AND this issue was right on top. So, I joined the group! I have the same problem with a '97 ES300 and it's not going away. The dealer has replaced the starter and the battery. But after driving along and stopping (say for gas), it will often not restart the first time IF it hasn't been long since it was shut off. In addition, when I start it normally, the start-up just seems "weak". Any ideas?? I am having the same problems with a 99 es300 coach edition. The car has spark, but will not ignite. In other words, it will crank but not actuall stay running. The RPM gauge shoots up, and then dies. So, I went and bought a fuel filter tonight. I am going to try and replace this week if I get time. I will let you know what happens.
  2. I recently changed an O2 sensor in my 99 Coach Edition. DO NOT buy a universal sensor. They are crap and most of the time will not give a warranty. I bought one similiar to what you are explaining. I paid $25 for it. About two days after installation, my Air Flow sensor and plugs fowled out. Lexus blames the cheap sensor. I dont know if that is true, but I would not take the risk. OEM is the only way to go. It is more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
  3. I have a 99 and a 93 ES. My 93 did the exact same thing. I simply tightened down the intake bolts and it minimized the leak. Occasionally I will get the oil burning smell, but not enough to bother me. These cars are notorious for burning oil once they reach that age. How many miles are on it?
  4. I am in desperate need of a 99 ES300 Coach Edition alloy rim, 15". If anyone has or knows where I may find one, please help me out!
  5. I am having similiar problems with my 1993 Lexus. What exactly is an EGR valve? I am running out of options myself. Thanks.
  6. I have had the same problem in my 93 Lexus, it will start working again when it warms up. If you open the door and give a little push, they will come down.
  7. thanks for your input, i will give it a try
  8. I own a 93 Lexus ES300. I has approximately 150,000 miles on it. Lately whenever I come to a complete stop and then pull out, my car stalls for a few seconds like it has lost power. It also does this on the initial start up. The first thing I did was replace my spark plugs. Next, I replaced the fuel filter, which was absolutely filthy! This helped some, in that it does not do it as often. I dont know what to do next? I dont think that it is my fuel pump because I was told by a Lexus dealership that they usually go out all at once. Somebody, Anybody, Please help me!!
  9. By the way this is for a 94 Lexus ES 300
  10. I cannot get my right rear window to roll down. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, whats your suggestion?
