  1. I need to replace the axle boot clamps due to leaking. Is that something that is covered by the CPO warranty? Thanks BW
  2. Remove the black plastic cover at the base of the wiper arm. It snaps off. Then the wiper arm can lock in outward position. Thanks! That was it.
  3. I need to change the rear wiper blade. I'm trying to lift the blade off the window and bend the arm outward away from the back of the car so i may remove the old wiper blade. The problem is it seems like it may break the wiper arm if i try to pull on it anymore. At this point the wiper blade is only off the window about 2-3 inches, the arm is not bent back and i cant bend the blade perpendicular enough to the wiper arm to remove the old blade. I'm really afraid if i pull on the arm more to get it away from the window its going to snap something. Is the proper procedure to bend the arm out from the window and then turn the blade perpendicular to the arm to remove the old blade. Then insert the new blade and turn it parallel to the arm and bend the arm back so it is flat with the window? Thanks Bob
  4. gordonw Thanks for the replies! They are very helpful. What is the actual process for ejecting the sleeve? is there a eject button or is the sleeve just supposed to be pushed in slightly to eject? I don't see a eject button where i'm looking. I'm guessing the sleeve is bad.
  5. We got back the old magazine on Saturday. Thats interesting. They did not give us a magazine when they put in what i thought was a new unit when the repair was done. We left and noticed no magazine so we returned to the dealership about 5 min later and asked them why we did not have a magazine. They stated it was shipped off to get fixed and get the cds out or something and they would get it to us when it was returned. This all happened about a month ago or more. So they called the other day and told us they had recieved the magazine. They finally found the old magazine after looking for it and then brought us the cd a couple minutes after that. They didn't state a thing about the magazine being damaged and we just put it back in the changer because we did not get a magzine whey the initially changed it.
  6. Its a 2003 GX. We just picked the magazine up over the weekend after it was returned to the dealership from when they fixed it before. It had a disc in it and they had to get it out. So my girlfriend picked it up and put the magazine back in. It seems to still have issues though. I'm pretty sure she put it in right, because i can see the lexus label and the test is facing the right way on the magazine. It should not have any discs in the magazine now since it was put back in.
  7. Is there an eject button for the cd sleave in the 6 disc player that is in the glove box. Do you just push on the cd sleave to make it release? I think my cd sleave is stuck in the player and will not release to add or remove cd's. I hear a clicking noise ever time i close/open the cd door. A loud click like something is stuck in the player. I just had this serviced under the warrenty, but believe it may still be broken. The entire cd mechanism in the glove box seems to move if i push on anything belonging to the system. It feels like its not all screwed in. Does anyone elses seem to give a little if it is pushed?
  8. Is there rear heat in a 2003 GX 470 or is it just rear AC? I was trying to read up on this and all i could find was the rear system was only for AC. It's throwing me off , because i think on the right side of the system (behind the middle counsel) if you put the setting on there it has a red color to it all the way to the right. I dont seem to get any heat out of the system in the back if its controlled by the second row.
  9. thanks for the reply. The headphones i have are IR. I did read some topics and posts on third party headphones that would work with the system too. I'm going to just by some other brand of IR headphones and see if they work.
  10. They are the ones for listening to the dvd player. They are lexus brand. I'm not sure if they are RF (radio frequency) or IR (infared frequency). They would be what was stock with the car for the 2003 year. I could maybe look for the instructions/manual in glove box to see if they are RF or IR. Is there another way to tell? Thanks Bob
  11. My son broke one of the headsets. He managed to break on the ear pieces off of the headset and the wires tore off of the connection board. Could someone tell me how to re-sauder the wires back onto the computer chip or board piece? Where do they go on the piece they connect to? I was going to try to fix them on my own. Thanks Bob
