  1. My "new" 2013 GS 350 blinks three time for lane change. The manual indicates that I can change this to 5 or 7 blinks. It directs me to the NAV book which also indicates that I can make the adjustment. Lots of indication, but never any actual instructions. Any ideas? Thanks
  2. Paul, I appreciate your reply. I bought the GS350. Not an F-sport, but pretty well equipped. The mileage was a little high, but I love this car!! I'm glad I bought bigger. First grandchild arrived this month and I am sure I'll need carseat room in a few months. It is also a better size to help with my elderly mother.
  3. I've owned my 97 ES 300 since 2003. It's a very tired vehicle. I was tired of trying to park a tank and wanted A sporty car before I looked too old to drive one. For several reasons I had decided on an IS. But the don't come in "fashion" colors. I've found a 2013 GS 350 in Meteor Blue. A serious fashion color! I would appreciate Thoughts, ideas, pros & cons. Obviously I am buying used due to price. You all have been a great resource through the years. Thanks
  4. 1997 ES 300, bought used from Lexus dealer in 2003. I am the second owner. Mileage was 70,000. Now 150,000. I love this car! Issues: Stereo display had been replaced at dealership, just prior to my purchase due to LCD issues. LCD went from hieroglyphics to totally black about 3yrs from my purchase. Repair cost $650 for an entire stereo unit plus installation. Not done. I quess what station or CD. Lowbeam headlight went out in 2007. Manual said it had to be replaced at dealership, lies all lies. But $100.00 later - new headlight. 6 months later, the other headlight went out. I went to the dealership and purchased the new bulb for $50.00. Service manager offered to install for $50.00. I said, No thanks" and proceeded to open the hood and start the install in the bay where they receive NEW Lexus for service. Service manager raced out to install for me and get me out of the bay. A Lexus dealership can not have a woman, dressed for work in their bay changing her light bulb. I have since learned that the bulbs can be purchased for about $18.00 at most car parts stores. They last about 6 months to a year. (I just read another post about not touching the bulb or cleaning it with alcohol if you had - so I will be more careful when I replace the current burned out bulb) Cup holders, now there was some engineering genius, Both front and rear broken. $120.00 & $110.00 for a replacements, no other options. Another hundred each for installation. Plastic stops for front seatbelts are both gone. Not sure how that happened. (Lexus headquarters does not know what these are anyway) Dealership solution, new seatbelts $500.00 including installation. The engine has a surge at 40 miles per hour. Mechanic has tried everything. Still has the surge. Good thing I bought a dependable car. Regular service keeps this baby running great, well, except for the surge. I hope to buy a Lexus again someday, can't beat the quiet ride. I wish they would make the interior parts as well as they made the rest of the car.
  5. So, here I am with the LCD in hieroglyphics for the second time. I called Lexus before I found this board. They must have told me 25 times that the car was out of warranty. Okay, does anyone believe that a 10 year old car still has a warranty on the radio? Lexus obviously knows of this problem. Their fix: a new radio $650.00 plus installation at my local dealer. No, they can not replace just the LCD. They should be ashamed. Shouldn't Pioneer have fixed the delamination problem by now? I am terrified to attempt installing a new LCD. Nor do I want to continue to replace it every three years. However there are excellent instructions on this board, so I may attempt it. Thank you all! I am about to be politically incorrect here, but I really wish I had one of you "car savvy" gentlemen to do this for me. When I was a young woman of 19 years I did, with help of a manual and a soon to be ex-boyfriend, rebuild the top of my AMC Javelin motor. (boyfriend disappeared while there were still parts all over the garage floor). Now that I am many years older, crawling around the dash of my Lexus with a pair of nail clippers is a bit daunting. Any encouragement would be appreciated! Thx again,
