  1. The dashcam shuts off about a second or so after turning the car off (since the capacitor needs to drain) and the phone disconnects immediately so AFAIK, that is working as expected. I have not done more sophisticated power readings as this seems to be proof enough that the power shuts off. I drive 5 days a week, 45 miles minimum daily (~22 each way to work). And more often than not a day or so on the weekend and trips are nearly never under 5 miles each way. That was never an issue of concern either. Stumped as it sounds like a bug. I was thinking about taking battery health readings every day to see if it's something else (visor open w/mirror closed to prop up the sunshade). On a side note, does anyone have documentation stating exactly what scenarios charge the auxiliary battery? I was told the car being on but not running does not charge the auxiliary battery since no alternator exists.
  2. Ran into a battery drainage issue this past weekend. Drove my ES300h on Sunday morning and then on Monday morning, car's battery was dead and the car would not start. Symptoms included flickering lights, clicking noises, and an intermittent warning message on the display stating roughly 'Elec Access System Malfunction'. Was not sure if this was a battery issue as this is my first foray into hybrids. After Roadside Assistance came and jumped the car (I was told by Lexus not to do this myself - which I probably will just do next time), 'Check Engine' lights remained and I decided to take it in to make sure nothing was wrong. After a lengthy wait at the dealership, it was decided the auxiliary battery was completely drained and needed a full recharge. Battery diagnostics came back fine. Not sure on their end why the battery died. Car was purchased new in September 2020. Supposedly one of their most reliable and durable batteries, being a higher end gel model. Has anyone experienced this in their hybrid? A couple of notes: - Use a sunscreen on the windshield so I prop it up with my visors. One thing different this weekend as opposed to others is the fact that the mirror was left open but once the visor is fully extended, the mirror light turns off. Even if the light was on, would it drain it in a day? Or is leaving the visor open in general, mirror open or not, slowly draining the battery? - I have a dashcam (A119v3 - capacitor powered) and a phone charger plugged into the center console DC port. This should disconnect completely once the engine is cutoff no? - No other interior lights were on. - All car doors and windows were closed - both the car locks successfully and the app did not notify me of any status otherwise.
  3. Yeah, I lost my original door handle cap and the dealerships nor eBay had them. A manager literally took one off another ES on the lot and handed it to me. I have a 2007 and I think he gave me one off of a 2011. I was nervous leaving it on as it sat a bit loose for my tastes but after another 30K or so heavy highway miles, it's still there.
  4. I'm on my second set of Primacy MXV4's and I'm still loving them. TireRack all the way.
  5. Good choice Steve. I'm ordering my second set of Primacy MXV4's right now for my '07. The first set lasted me around 50K with our lovely beltway driving action.
  6. I agree with you all that Hyundai is coming around to be an excellent car for a damn good value. Didn't some major car magazine just rate the upcoming/already out Hyundai Equus as being higher rated than the friggin' LS? I only sat in the LS but I know from my experience with my ES, the LS has to be awesome. But if Hyundai's comparatively quality product can be had for much less dough, I would be hard pressed to get the Lexus. My comfort and piece of mind is what matters most. Not the amount of money I shelled out. Perhaps if Hyundai finally released their own luxury emblem like people were speculating, then perhaps people will start associating 'prestige' to the Korean car line... I sure enjoyed my weeklong Sonata loaner experience when I had my ES in the shop. Currently looking to potentially replace my ES for a RX possibly... Can they please friggin' do a major update on that car's design though? It looks generally the same for the last decade or so...
  7. I currently have the '07 ES and was wondering if there is a way to upgrade the onboard computer system to provide a way to do bluetooth audio. It would be nice to have my phone connect to both the phone and audio functions so I don't have to plug in the audio cable directly. Would this be possible somehow? I'm sure the navi updates don't provide any base system upgrades... Crossing my fingers...
  8. I've driven these cars for 13 years...true balancing tires is not rocket science, but on these cars the balance has to be PERFECT, where as on other cars if its off a little, you'll never know. I have had one shop balance them over and over again and swear they are fine when they aren't, and another shop balances them once and they're perfect. Its easy to say that you would take a $7,000 loss over something like this...but that would be crazy... Hey Steve, First off, congrats on finally upgrading your last gen ES to our gen. Secondly, are you still using Nelson at LXT for your service?
  9. Yeah, that phone thing bugs me. I wish that these BT systems in cars would have some kind of preference system for auto-pairing with phones... like look for phone #1 first before #2, #3, etc. I hate having to manually select the default phone to pair. Especially cause I usually don't notice that my wife's phone is set until after I'm moving down the street... The wife's '08 G37 auto-pairing system seems to rely on a race condition... whichever phone shows up to the car system first gets paired...
  10. I have noticed that in my '07 UL, 87 gives my engine a bit of hesitation and stutter, even when I am not accelerating that hard. I stick with 89 now.
  11. Awesome. thanks for the tip on the bulb model type. I couldn't find any real data anywhere. It's that tough eh? I'll look through my repair manual and defer it to my mechanic if necessary. Thanks again.
  12. So... I guess no one of the board replaced their Xenon headlight bulbs here themselves? I'm just wondering if it's DIY-able as I can obtain the bulbs for a good price. Thanks~
  13. Warranty is up already. Lousy 40k, 5 yr lifespan on that warranty... I meant 4 year 50k.

  15. I found this bulb and wanted to confirm whether or not it is in fact the OEM bulb that comes with the '07 ES350.
