  1. Hope anyone can help: I have been presented with an opportunity to pick-up for a very low cost a set of used 18" LS460 Wheels and I wanted to know if these will fit my 98 LS400? Thanks in advance for your great help as usual.
  2. I have one off of 1998 which should match your set-up identically it is all leather though and it does not have the wood trim on top and bottom....if you are interested let me know.
  3. When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter?...if recently then I would also look at the fuel pump...either one of those could be the culprit.
  4. Thanks Landar. Also kinldy can you let me know in your openion if it is hard to do the repair my self and how much time envolved as I am debating whether I should bring the part to someone to do the work as I have no idea what I am looking at from a cost point of view that is normally based on repair time? I looked at it today quickly and it appears that there are only 4 bolts that are holding it together and not to mention that I will have to remove the fan clutch that is being held to the pulley as well by 4 nuts. Thanks in Advnace Al
  5. Hi Everyone, I own a very well maintained 1998 LS400 with 110K on the ODO. Recently the car started to make a droning noise more noticeable as I am driving it, and after intensive diagnostic work I was able to track it down to the fan clutch bearing bracket area. My question is when I asked some auto parts stores about a price for the Fan Clutch Bearing Bracket they indicated that there is no such part is avaialable for the car but said they have what is called the fan idler bracket....so is this the same part? Please advise. Thanks Al
  6. Thanks SKP. I am aware of this...I just need to know if the 20" will go on fine without any rubbing to fender.
  7. Hi All, I own a 98 LS400 and I am considering a wheel upgrade to 20" wheels all around as follows: Wheel Size: 20x8.5 Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3 Wheel Offset: +42 Tire Size (F & R): 245-35-20 My question is do I need to roll the LIP of the fender to make this type of set up fit. Also please note that I recently upgraded my shocks to Bilstein shocks in which I do not know if it will have an adverse effect on this application or not. Thanks for your feed back Al.
  8. Thanks SW03ES - found the little tab and everytihng was easy from there. Now I can say for sure I am getting old and my eyes are growing with me. Thanks again guys. Al
  9. OK I am on my way down to the garage to see if I can do it per your discription.....last time I spent so much time fidling around with it the security guard thought I am breaking into the car.
  10. No digital cam available at the moment as I am working late in the office and I attempting to change them prior to driving in rain later this evening.....any one with the year 98 - 00 and have attempted to do this will know what I am talking about....the assembly is different than the older models.
  11. Apologies if I am not being too clear on this, I am trying to attempt and change the blade it self not the insert, with that being said, how do you separate the blade from the holding arm.....does it snap on and snap off (like the passenger side) or do I have to do something different to get it off....I tried to get it off and it just does not want to come off as if it is all connected together. Thanks Al.
  12. Thanks for your reply - I did what you said and that's how I changed the passenegr side but how do you seperate the wiper blade from the hand on the driver side...it is connected to 2 arms. Al.
  13. Wow...16 people viewed this post an no one can provide an input.....please if any one with a 98 thru 00 models and replaced their wipers at some point can you provide some idea on how to replace the driver side W. B. and not the instert only. Thanks
