  1. hello- I am considering taking off the " es300" and " lexus" emblems and simply leaving the lexus symbol on the back of the car. Does anyone know how to do this? Are the emblems glued on or bolted in? Does ayone have any experience removing these from an es300 ( mine is '95) thanks guys! -Smoothride

  5. When I start up my car, i get distinct fumes smell in the cabin, im not sure exactly what the smell could be(most likely exhaust). The smell is much stronger when I am not moving I.E. maybe there is crack in exhaust system and fumes flaoting up in through heating vents? I'm no expert though and can only speculate. Has anyone had this happen to them, or have an idea what the scent coudl be/why it is coming into the car? the scent is only obvious during the first few miles I drive, and is much stronger smelling when I start the car up for the first that day, and generally gets better throughout the days drive. thanks guys- Miles
  6. So I have my excellent 95 es300, however, when it gets cold the windows are TOTALLY stuck everytime. On my old maxima i'd just give the window a big pound or 3 and it would eventually go down. I dont seem to be having same luck with the es300. Does anyone else run into this problem in cold weather? Any tips? It's not even snowing which makes me nervous for how bad it might be when that happens every day this winter in Chicago thanks guys - Miles
  7. Hello guys! Thanks for all the useful help so far. My next question is this : How much better is fuel economy in normal mode Vs Power mode? Further, what are your opinions about performance in the different modes? Is it healthy for the car to always drive in power? Which situations warrant power mode and which do not? Is it hard on the transmission to drive on power mode most of the time? thanks so much! - Miles
  8. Hi guys-Thanks for all the good advice on the octane issue. My next question is if anyone has any tips for winter maintanance. I live in chicago and our winters tend to be extreme. How long do any of you cold weather folks let your engine warm up before heading out? Are there any extra precautions I shold take for the upcoming winter? thanks again- Miles
  9. I just got a used 1995 es300. However, the manual in my car is for a 96 model. The carfax report has mine listed as a 95. Anyways, the manuall tells me to use 87 octane, and 91 if you so choose to. Will my 95( which i assume it is) es300 work fine on 87 octane? thanks guys -Miles
