  1. I'm trying to install an aftermarket radio in an 03 GS300. Would you happen to have or know how to find a harness to connect it into the factory wiring? I've seen harnesses from Metra, 70-8113 and 71-8113, as well as one from autotoys. But nobody seems to guarantee that it will work.
  2. I have a 03 GS300, 89k miles. Had my timing belt and plugs changed last week. O2 sensor Bank2, Sensor 1 failed right away. I took the car back to the dealer and they changed that sensor. Now, 10 days later, check engine light has come on again. Had it tested at Autozone and code P0037 comes up, Bank 1 Sensor 2, heater circuit low. Am I just having bad luck or could the mechanic have screwed something up when he changed the timing belt and plugs? Since Sensor 2 is after the converter, could it possibly need replacing?
  3. Where is the actuator located and what does it do? Is there one located inside every door? How much does it cost to replace?
  4. Recently, my 03 GS300 stopped chirping when I use the remote to lock the doors. The doors physically lock when I press the button, but there's not the usual, single chirp and no lights flash. When I use the remote to unlock, it works normally. I've tried disconnecting the battery. The fixes the problem for a day or so, but then it starts doing it again. Any suggestions?
  5. I used to have an ES where the check engine and VSC lights went off and it was because of the O2 sensor also. Does the VSC truly not work when an O2 sensor is out? The O2 sensor shouldnt have to do with the traction control. Or is the computer just programmed to display these lights whenever an O2 sensor is out?
  6. Actually the same exact thing just happened to me today. I have a '03 GS300, 88k miles and my VSC lights came on. I had the timing belts and spark plugs changed yesterday and on my way home from the dealer, the VSC and check engine lights came on. They've never come on before. I took it straight back to the dealer and they claimed it was an O2 sensor. They changed the O2 sensor and didnt charge me any labor. And on my way home, it went off again. Based on the earlier posts, I'm thinking that it's an electrical problem. I'm paranoid that if I take it back, they'll say it was another O2 sensor or maybe the speed sensor, or maybe the harness. Between the timing belt, spark plugs, and the O2 sensor, I've already spent $1200. It has to be something that they did when they changed the belt and the plugs, because the lights have never come on before. Does anybody else have any suggestions?
  7. I had a '92 Camry that I put a universal catalytic converter in. I paid about $80 for it and then around $80 in labor to have it installed. It worked enough to pass the emissions test, but it went bad about a year later. The converter supposedly had a lifetime warranty, but I decided it wasnt worth it to fix again. So I sold the car.
  8. The manual also says the plugs need to be changed (even though they are iridium) to maintain the emissions control warranty. Does anybody have any idea why this requirement is only on the GS and IS? The emissions warranty only goes to 80k, right? Also, is it normal for a serpentine belt to need changing at 60-70k? It does look kinda worn. I used to have an ES and I didnt touch the serpentine until I changed the timing belt at 90k
  9. I took my 03 GS with 60k miles to a Toyota dealer to have my plugs changed, because it was more convenient. The service manager says that my car had Iridium plugs and I should wait to have them changed. Were iridium plugs standard on an '03? Or was the dealer afraid because it was a Lexus? They dont want to change the Serpentine belt, because they arent used to I-6 engines, but they did clean the fuel injectors and throttle body.
