  1. Considering a 2010 RX and wondering if an exteded 7 year 70,000 mile warranty is available? If so, about how much. Lastly, any expected changes to 2011 that should be hitting ground in next couple months?
  2. Thanks. Is the key fob for the smart key programmable (i.e. can you program it so that is does or does not lock doors as you approach car, etc. etc.)? I assume with the smart key it is very possible to park, get out of car, and forget to turn off engine or is there something that can be used to prevent this - i.e. does engine shut off and doors lock if smartkey gets more than 10 feet from car, etc. etc.? And for guys, where do they end up putting the smart key - not like we have purses and personally, I don't like anything in my front pockets when I drive. I could see parking, getting out of car without key, walking away and seeing someone get into car and driving off. Seems like a bad feature - you put house keys on keychain, etc. etc. and now you have to find someone to put them in the car so they don't rattle the entire time you are driving. Doesn't sound like I would like the semi-aniline leather...too bad I can not get the retractable side mirrors without the semi-aniline leather. I would like to have retractable side mirrors but don't want to spend the extra $2500 to get the luxury package so I can get the retractable side mirrors which is the only thing I really see useful as part of the luxury package.
  3. Thanks..another question would be how the 'remote push button start' works. Do you have to use this feature or is there actually a place to put the key? I don't like walking up to a car and having it unlike doors when I get close enough. Hopefully this can be disabled. I also don't like stopping, putting in park, forgeting to push off button and getting out of car with it running. I would like to make it so if you pull the key out the car shut off. I guess more questions for the dealer.
  4. I test drove an RX350 today and my wife and I really liked it. We are probably going with every option except luxury package and have a question about available 19" wheels. I see per the catalog you can get 19" 7 spoke alloy wheels or 19" 7 spoke superchrome wheels. Is there a charge for the superchrome wheels? Also, I see as part of the luxury package, semi-aniline leather is part of it? What is this and is it really any nicer than the 'normal' leather? Thanks!!
  5. Are there any differences between '08 and '09 GS350's? Secondly, when you purchase a CPO do you get the remainder of the 4 year / 50K mile new car warranty? If I buy a 2008 with 12,000 miles, do I still get the new car bumper to bumper warranty until 2012 or 50,000k AND then get another 2 year or 50,000 mile CPO warranty after expiration of the new car bumper to bumper warranty? I have read the literature on the Lexus forum and it is unclear if you still get the new car warranty until it is up when you buy a CPO Lexus. Thanks!
  6. Anyone think that Lexus will ever off the GX470 with a 2wd option or an ability to at least turn off 4wd??
  7. Does the back seat fold down to increase trunk space? Secondly (and I may get it for this)....has anyone installed a trailer reciever on a GS? I need it just for a bike rack I have...or I can get the 'sedan' type bike rack...
  8. How much below MSRP are dealers really willing to go...I was getting quotes for around $4000 off MSRP on a RX350..but now considering GS350....thanks!
  9. Is there a major re-design of the RX350 planned for 2009? I can not wait until next year to get a car and not sure I want to get an RX350 if there is a big change planned for 2009...I believe I recall reading that the '09 will get a little bigger and allow for 3rd row seats, is this correct?
  10. Anyone have any blind spot problems with RX350?
  11. Your pricing without the entertainment system looks good. What state is your dealer in? As for the entertainment system you can do what I did, I went to Target and purchase a DVD bag for $25 that hangs on the back of the front seat that holds a small DVD player ( the DVD player does not come with it). It also comes with 2 headsets and my daugther loves it. Another thing is that it does not block my rear view mirror. Located in Texas....so $44K out the door without entertainment is a fair deal? I know some people are getting upwards of $4000 off MSRP and that is what I am shooting for...at $44K it is about $3000 off MSRP. Thanks for the DVD bag idea...that will work with whatever vehicel I decide to go with...thanks!!!
  12. If I understand you correctly, they are willing to go 4K off MSRP? Depending on what options you're getting, that's NOT bad at all. I purchased my 2008 RX350 3 weeks ago. I live in the Atlanta area but emailed all of the Lexus dealers in the SouthEast. Some wanted MSRP and one even wanted $5000 over MSRP. I learned the sale talk regarding the car. With the nav sys and prem. plus package there is a 44416 with the seven spoke wheels, and a 44306 with the 5 spoke wheels. The numbers are the MSRP, $44416. After a week of emails there were about 5 dealers still in the game. The dealer 6 miles from my home where I purchased my RX300 was $700 over the out of state dealer where I purchased my new RX. For a 3 1/2 drive to Nashville I same $700. The only difference between the 2 cars was that my car have the 5 spoke wheels, this was an oversite on my part but my wife didn't like the 7 spoke wheels any way. Including dealer prep cost my drive our on a car with the MSRP of $44306 was $40399 plus tax. If was want to ever the playing field while shopping for a car you can do as I did, go to Comsumer Report online and pay $14 for a report on the pricing of the car. The dealer should make between a4% and 8% margin on the sale. According to CR my dealer made 6.5%. Your guy came off $3900 off MSRP and your drive out was probably right at $43K (including tax)....my guy is coming off right at $4000 so it sounds like he is in line and will make about 6% on the deal..right in the middle which works for me......I may ask him to take out the entertainment package and re-quote (try to save another $1000)...but that will depend on how I feel that day.
  13. I am a little confused...looking at the RX specifications vs. the GX specifications, I am surprised to find the following: The RX actually has more HP than the GX even though it only has a 6 cylinder. GX does have more torque with the V8. The RX actually has more front row leg room and front row shoulder room than the GX... The GX does have slightly more front seat headroom. The RX also has more cargo volume.... All of the above really surprised me as the GX is the big brother to the RX. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

  15. Here is my latest quote (right at $4000 below MSRP which is about $1000 over invoice from what I can tell) $44,070.14 out the door - (includes all charges, desitnation ($715), sales tax ($2575), invoice tax($113), license and title fee($127), doc. fee($50), deputy fee($5)): - 2WD - Premium Plus Package (PT) - Towing Prep Package (TO) - Entertainment System (EY) - Navigation System (NV) - 18" 7 Spoke Wheels (FV) - Heated Seat with Rain Sense Wipers (HH) - Wheel Locks (WL) - Tax and any fees, etc. + $400 for hitch. Any thoughts????? Thanks! UPDATE TO THE ABOVE QUOTE - The price DOES NOT include the entertainment system. I really don't want it, but at that price, it should include it.....the dealer and I am about $1000 apart on pricing. I would take the above without the entertainment system for $43K out the door, but not $44K.....buying a new car is exhausting and I have not even stepped out of my home yet....
