  1. Does anyone know the size of the stock speakers in a 2002 LS430? I'd like to know before I go ripping the door panels off.
  2. Thanks maybe I'll give that a try. I had no idea they were THAT expensive maybe I'll just leave them in the normal position so they don't wear out too quickly since I do not currently have a warranty. I'm thinking of getting an extended one, Its a few grand but we all know how expensive things can be to fix...
  3. That wasn't what I meant but still very interesting. I had no idea I could add xm and ipod integration to my OEM stereo!! very kewl! Thanks!
  4. I put in my VIN and it came up with the incorrect year... Weird!
  5. Can you send me a URL that shows how to connect an Ipod to a stock radio? Do you just use a FM transmitter or is there a way to hardwire it? I'm thinking of installing XM radio in my 02 LS430 but there isn't a Aux option on my radio. If they use a transmitter won't the quality be degraded? I tried searching the thread for XM but the search tool wouldn't let me...
  6. Has anyone had any experience with fixing the power mirrors on a 2002-430? My drivers mirror works fine and the passenger one moves about a 1/2 inch when trying to close. I'm wondering if I can just lubricate the mirror joint cause it seems like it wants to work but maybe the system is designed to stop if it feels resistance? Maybe? Where can I pick one up used since I believe these are quite expensive new... Thanks!
  7. I've always said its just a few bucks more... I wouldn't put anything less that premium in my cars. Like the first post said its 4 bucks diff!!!
  8. I just sold my 97' 400 for a 2002 430. I'm told that the 2002 and 2003 LS430's are by far the best cars Lexus has come out with. I was told this by a maintenance supervisor who had nothing to gain if I bought the car since it was from a private seller. He told me that with his experience he would stick with the 02 and 03 and that they are just a very solid car. When I sold my 97 LS400 there was nothing wrong with the car so I'm not knocking the 400s at all I love that car, I just bumped into a very nice deal that I just couldn't pass up.
  9. The link shows a rear brake light and the sub grille as one unit my 1997 LS400 has two separate covers. I'm going to try and remove the grille just like the link showed and I hope it works the same. I'm removing the sub because I installed 2-12" subs in my trunk and they push the factory sub so hard in the opposite direction it makes a popping sound. So if I remove it, the problem should be fixed. The installers told me I had to remove the seat bottom and back of the rear seat then remove the entire back section to get to the sub. I'd like to skip the removal of the rear seat if at all possible.
  10. I was looking in to doing that too for my 97 LS and i was told I would need a 2nd key to hide under the dash. But after some research on the net I found a module that I believe will override the need for a 2nd key. Has anyone used this override box before. I'm still considering doing the remote start for mine.
  11. Does anyone know how to remove the sub? I tried removing the grille over the speaker but it feels like I'm about to break it. I thought it would just snap on and off. Does anyone know if its mounted from the bottom? Before I go ripping the trunk apart I thought I'd start here. Thanks.
  12. Has Anyone ever used this module in their 97 LS 400? http://www.caraudio-caralarms.com/555X.html I just want the perfect setup for remote starting and not too many people are doing this in the 97'...
  13. Thanks I found it! I was doing some searching on remote starts and I see you have a clifford installed in your 98' who did the install? Did you have to have a 2nd key hidden behind the dashboard? Best Buy told me I would need a 2nd key to do the install. I'm wondering if there is some way to bypass this issue and/or use the factory key fob to use with a remote start system. i saw a post that said he used the same fob and hit the panic button twice. Do you have any info? Thanks!!!
  14. I searched the forums and have some ideas of where to start looking but nothing on a 97 amp location. Is it in the trunk, under the seat or near the glovebox? Thanks guys!
  15. Does anyone know where to pick up original floor mats. I was told the original mats have the lexus logo on them.
