  1. I talked to him about it a few months back. I'm sure he still sells them. ** today my drivers seat quit working(sc300) and I found a "white cap" under the seat, where does it go ? any photos ? (or very detailed description please), I have the seat out. I found out where the Hex top plastic cap goes today, it goes into the white plastic box(outside edge) where the screw drive for the rail that didn't work is located. See photo.

  3. ** If you mean the shift lever itself, the plastic cover at the base can be gently pushed down with a flat blade screwdriver or other object and will reveal 2 screws that hold the shift lever in place, one or both of the screws may be loose. I had to remove it while replacing the CCU LCD, that's probbably where you've seen it before.
  4. If I'm sitting in my LX, I can bend forward a little bit and look over to see the white cap for the passenger seat. It's located under the seat (obviously), towards what would be the upper left corner (for the passenter seat). It goes in horizontally, so when I look from the drivers seat, I see the philips screw end of it. Hope that helps. ** I found the philips cap but that's not what I found under my seat when I removed it(seat). The plastic "Cap" that I found has a "hex" top and is threaded as well. I don't know if it came from the seat or not. Let me explain my problem. Today I moved the seat all of the way forward to put someting into the back seat area. When I tried to move it back, the rail by the drivers door moved but the rail next to the console didn't move, thus the seat actually tried to twist. Are there separate fuses for each motor ? how do you sync the rails? I removed the seat but I don't see anything wrong other than there is no rail movement on the console side of the seat frame. Any ideas ? , where are the power seat fuses located ?

  6. I took my 95' SC300 to a local Toyota specialist because my AC wasn't working well at all- 65-70 degree air on a 90 degree day. He said I had r134 (not r12) and I've taken it back twice because it still blows only cool air(cost $450 !). I bought my own recharge kit today with gauge just because I wanted to see if the r134 leaked out or if they overcharged it. My question is WHERE is the LOW pressure (fill) valve located on a 95' sc300 ?? a photo please !!! Steve
  7. I brought my 95' SC300 in for "check engine light" and it was caused by a plugged egr valve. Steve
  8. I just had my 95' SC300 seals replaced, timing belt, serp belt , egr valve etc. They left the engine bay filthy so I headed to my nearest DIY pressure carwash. they use very hot water and an engine degreaser mode. It worked great for me, no problems and it looks like new. I suggest in the future to keep the engine running while power washing and only use HOT water- Don't do it at home with cold water, takes too long to dry. Steve
  9. Does anyone know of a good source for the splash shield that goes under the engine of a 95' SC300 ? I tried to repair the rips with fiberglass but it wouldn't stick. (I think the dealer has them for $150+ (seems high for a piece of treated cardboard or whatever it is) Does anyone reproduce it yet in a durable molded plastic ? Steve
  10. I'm a new owner too but I don't think brake squeal is inherent to the SC series. I've had it with other cars too, when I have used other than factory pads- I'd say with factory Toyota pads and turning the rotors, you should be ok. *Maybe we can get some input from SC users that use factory pads.
  11. I had the rotors machined and they look great, so the noise isn't from them, it must be the ceramic pads or the items mentioned above. (anti squeal lube or clips not being used) I can see clips through the wheels though. I've always had problems going to after market pads- factory is the only way to go, even if they don't last as long, at least they're quiet. My ceramics are making less noise, now that I have a few hundred miles on them, but they still squeal once in a while- I hate noisy brakes, people look at you like you're driving a piece of junk.
  12. My insurance company (Geico) allows for free injection fixes on windshields- works great ! Check with your Ins Co and see if they do the same, usually cheap if you have to pay for it.
  13. I just put a set of Yokohama YK420's on my SC300- 225 55 16's and the reduction in tire noise was remarkable- AA traction rating and 420 tire wear rating-A temp rating- not for racing but I love mine- reasonably priced too.($116ea)
  14. I just bought a 95' SC300. I love the car but just had a brake job done at "Brakes Plus" using their best ceramic pads and now I have annoying squeel sometimes. Is there a proper way to seat the pads when new? Is there a pad that users recommend that won't squeel? (are factory pads the best route?) I'd like some suggestions to take with me when I take the car back to "Brakes Plus". thanks-
