  1. Hope everyone is doing good out there.. I'm in the market for some new tires.. I own a 03 GS300 and have some Z rated Yokohama's which are in need of replacing soon. A couple tires I am looking at are the Goodyear Assurance triple tred or stay with Yokohama's and change to a Avid TRZ. If anyone has suggestions or comments about what they are using that would be great. Stock rims 225/55/16 Thanks
  2. Here's a site where you can publish and everyone can download.. There's a free trial you can use. I haven't used it to send anything, only received larger files, but it's worked great. http://www.yousendit.com/
  3. I am getting ready to replace my timing belt this weekend (or was..) I've replaced them before on a 95 toyota camry, but I had the manual. I went to buy a Haynes manual from a parts store but they said Haynes didn't off one for a 2003 GS300. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.
  4. Here's some images I took as I was thinking... What the *&%% am I doing this for.... Well long story short it all fit together like it should and only have a couple extra peices.... Thanks for your help!
  5. Called around and got quotes of $700 and up. They say it's a 7hr job... Called on the part and it's $19.95.. let's see... What am I doing Sat.. The problem is no lift, Just Jack stands. Wish me luck!! Thanks for the info.
  6. found a site that shows how to replace a LS400 rear main seal.. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/transmission/removal.html Would this be the same process on the GS300? Thanks.
  7. I own a 03 GS300, has apprx. 108k miles at this point. Haven't had too many issues up until now. All of a sudden I noticed there was smoke rolling out from under my hood whenever I stopped at a light. Came to the conclusion that I have a rear main seal leak. Does anyone know if they make a Speedy sleeve for this year of Lexus? If so, is this a job that can be done in a weekend (replacing the seal and adding the speedy sleeve)? Thanks for you help.
  8. Just to clarify... Not trying to break any local, state or international laws or do this on an ongoing basis... My tires are getting close to being replaced so wanted to test the pick up and use up the last remaining tread. Thanks for the tips.
  9. Own a 02 GS300 and have always thought the pickup was or should be a bit better than it is.. The only time I can get the tires to spin from the start is when I have it washed and the pavement is slick.... any thoughts on this or for the 300 is this normal?
  10. Finally was able to get to replacing the O2 sensors (correctly I might add from the superb info from the forum!) Runs great and go more lights on the dash!! The info on where and what these codes mean was extremenly helpful! Thanks!!
  11. Engine light along with various other lights have come on. Last time I had this happen I replaced an oxygen sensor which worked for about 5 months and now I have had it checked again... There are 2 things coming up. P0031 HO2S Bank 1 Sen 1 Heater Circuit low and P0037 HO2Bank 1 Sen 2 Heater Circuit Low. I am guessing that these are oxygen sensors, but have no clue which ones they are or where they are at. I am guessing the P0031 is the one that comes up under the floorboard, anyone know where the other one is (HO2 Bank1 Sen 2). 2003 GS300
  12. A couple people say to leave it in... Majority RULES! Thanks again for you help.
  13. One of my previous posts was regarding oxygen sensors which I had installed on my vehicle in Sept. 06. This was for the sensor which is located underneith the vehicle and comes through the floor board. Since then my check engine lights have come on again so I had it checked out. Now I am getting 2 errors when read by a vehicle scanner.. P0031 HO2S Bank 1 Sen 1 Heater Circuit Low(which I think is the same one I received last time) and a new one P0037 HO2S Bank 1 Sen 2 Heater Circuit Low. I have driven about 18k miles before the lights came on again. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  14. I have changed my tanny fluid a couple times since I've owned my 03 GS 300 and was contemplating if I should change the tranny filter along with it. This is the filter or screen located inside the pan underneith the vehicle. Went to a lexus dealer and asked their repair dept. if this was necessary. They informed me that there is no need to replace this part. Does anyone recommend changing this? Thanks in advance..
