  1. I have an 02 es300 with nav gen 3. I believe I am using version 4.1. I wanted to know if updating to a newer version will improve the appearance of the map to make it look more modern. Is this possible?
  2. I have an 02 es300. I am currently using navigation disc version 4.1. I know that 7.1 still has the ovveride option because I burned a copy and it let me do it. The burned copy doesn't work well as the navigation randomly doesn't recognize the disc so i switched back to the oem disc. I heard that after version 8.1 the navigation loses the option to ovveride and it is gone forever if u try to switch back to an older version. I want to know if anyone has upgraded to 8.1 or later and still has the override option. I am considering the newest version 10.1.
  3. My light inside of my trunk stopped working in an 02 es300. I pulled out the little light mechanism. I can't get this thing opened. I'm not sure if i'm supposed to replace this whole small unit or the bulbs inside it. If it is the bulbs can someone tell me how to open the plastic cover on this lighting mechanism.
  4. Ya I just got my 90k service done and it was just a serpentine belt that needed to be replaced. It's next to the timing belt which was replaced with the service so they changed it for free. I'm sure normally it would be kind of expensive because of the labor but the car is very quiet now when the a/c is on.
  5. I have a buzzing/whining noise coming out of my 02 es300. I've had this noise for a couple of years now and it is mostly when the car is at standstill and seems to go away when I drive (or maybe I can't hear it then). The a/c is ice cold in the car and there are no error lights on. Has anyone else had this problem and know what it could be. I hope it's not the compressor. I'm sending in my car for its 90k checkup soon.
  6. Hey, I am not sure about the wires exactly but to get to the subwoofer you have to take out the back seats and a couple of panels. It isnt that hard but takes about an hour to do. If you give me your email I will send you the attachment instructions to get to the subwoofer.

  7. ...CAN'T SEEM TO TAKE THE INSIDE COVER OFF TO GET TO THE SUBWOOFER...!!....SECOND PROBLEM IS THAT ONE OF THE (TWO)WIRES THAT GIVE POWER TO THE SUBWOOFER IS DISCONNECTED...HOW DO I RECONNECT IT BACK??....Do you have the es 300(02), if so, did you glue the subwoofer from the trunk or from the inside of the car?

  8. which problem?

  9. Hey, NEED HELP ON THE ES 300 (02)...SAME PROBLEM AS YOU, BUT CANT TAKE THE DARN COVER OFF FROM THE INSIDE...PLEASE HELP...THANK YOU

  10. My 02 es300 makes a slight buzzing noise whenever my a/c is on. It is very annoying and embarrassing. Has anyone else had this problem and know what could be wrong and how much it is to fix? I would appreciate the help.
  11. Randy, please send me the pictures, etc as i need to do this. I tried to PM you but can't. Worked like a charm. Had to take out the back seats on my 02 es300 but i got to it and glued it and as good as new. Saved me $500. I have a copy on how to take out the back seats and get to the ML sub for this car. If anyone needs it just pm me.
  12. The bottom seats to just click into place but the top seat does not have a lever of any kind. I think the Camry has that. If anyone could tell me how to remove the top back portion of the rear seat I would really appreciate it so I can get to the sub.
  13. Thanks for the help. I just need to know how to get the back seat off now. If someone has pictures please let me know. I'm wondering if i should buy a haynes repair manual on ebay to do this. Its about 20 bux. ACTUALLY, YOU HAVE TO PULL THE ENTIRE BACK SEAT OUT. My ex blew the speaker and had to pull the back seat out to get to it because the nav system blocks it from the trunk and the cover is attached to the support board, it doesnt come off from the top. I did not watch him but with the repair time it is a weekend job. I had to drive around w no back seat for a day to let the glue dry. Im not sure if you have to disconnect the 3rd break and slide the whole rear deck forward and over where the seat should be. I remember it for some reason cause the seat belts run through the deck. Sorry, I cant help more. If you are lucky like I was. It is just the glue dry rotting and disconnecting from the metal frame. Or it could be the fabric that surrounds the speaker that has ripped. he used automotive glue to repair it since it can take the heat from the rear mount and is flexible. i havent had any problems in about 9 months. The sub farted just like it was blown and it was only the glue. However, all my other speakers have paper rattles now. It is only certian songs so maybe the speakers just cant handle certian frequencies. It seems to be stuff like old skool...lynard skynard, CCR, etc stuff with lots of mids. the lady that had the car never adjusted the equalizer or pushed the speakers....and it was from AZ...dry rotted glue!
  14. I need to fix the rattle coming from my Mark Levinson subwoofer in my 02 es300. I can't get the stupid cover off that covers the sub inside the car. It is stuck in the 4 corners and i've heard about possible clips. Can anyone tell me how to get it off or if i have to go the trunk route?
