  1. It will be a great help if you tell us how you took the pressure off the wheel? I have the same problem and so fa I can not make it to work. Thanks,
  2. That's what it was. The wheel was turned pretty hard when I parked it last. I was nervous for a moment. Thanks for being there. I have the similar problem that my ignition key works on all door and trunk but I can turn in the ignition. My power steering has gone bad for almost few months back. So it is hard to turn wheel but woks. Does that caused the problem now that I can not turn in the ignition? My battery is also low. Any help in this regard, please? Thanks,
  3. Hello! I have a 1991 Lexus LS400. I have only one key which I used for ignition etc. Couple of day back the when I tried to start the car, the key could not turn. I can open all my doors and trunk with key but can not turn the key in ignition slot. I went to a Lexus dealer and he cut a key based on the VIN number and then he said that that does not match to my original key. So used my key to cut another key. I tried this new key but it even does not open any of the doors and still not work in ignition. It goes half way in. My question is that is the with VIN no. and key code, the key will be different than what I have? How to resolve this issue? The dealer refused to refund the money or give any help. Thanks.
  4. This wire doesn't seem to be them. Is it perhaps the Green/black wire with silver dots? I was a little foolish and threw everything back together before I tested the lights, doh! I do not want to fight with that stupid black vent again. Thanks in advance for any reply! Hi! I looked at the first posting I made and also looked at the notes I was taking as I did my install and the wire I used is definitely the green/silver dots wire. Thanks! I'll have to crunch into the mystery a little deeper then. My manual said Lexus Park lights are Negative (-). But, that can't be it, because it's positive.. lol. The search goes on! Thanks again! Hello! The first post was very very helpful. It saved me a lots of time. I was looking how to install an Aftermarket Keyless entry on my 1991 Lexux LS400 and found this post. I sues 3 wires, Green/Black, Green/Yellow for unlock/lock and for power I used the Red wire from the Door Courtesy Light ( which comes on when the door is opened ). My system is working fine. Thanks to all who contribute their works on this forum. It saves lots of time and especially money in today,s bad economic. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.
  5. thank you all guys for ur input.... really appreaciate it!! Do you from where I can get the replacment key and the card key you mentioned in the SF bay area? Thanks.
  6. I was checking EPA website and they mentioned that this Duracool is a flameable material and not recommended for Auto use. Freeze 12 is the one for R-12 systems.
  7. I tried to call couple of locksmiths and they were asking in the range of $200 to make cut the key in the SF bay area. I do not think that is reasonable. Do you know which locksmith you used and what was the cost? One more question: Is the glove compartment key is different that the ignition key? I tried to use my ignition key in the glove compartment and it did not work. Thanks,
  8. Does anyone know from where I can buy an ignition master key without the trasmitter? If I get a blank from Ebay, how much it will be to have it cut? Thanks,
  9. Hello! I have the same LS400 1991 model. Is it possible to send a picture of the location of this remote control module? Also could you send other diagnostic steps as you mentioned in your reply? my email is: jhussain@yahoo.com Thanks,
  10. I can lock and unlock the trunk by the key which also locks and unlocks the door and to start the car. What I want to know is why this key can not unlock the lock locataed under the instrument panel which locks or inlocke the lever lext to it to open the trunk from inside. Thanks,
  11. Thanks. It looks like I am getting some positive responses on this issue. Thanks,
  12. I have read what you listed above and also have been reading other sites also. In your opinion, is it safe to use this Freeze-12 in the 1991 LS400 after the required conversion? Based on the info, the only thing to be done is to evacuate the remaining R-12 and then recharge with Freeze-12. Thanks,
  13. I just bought a 1991 LS400 from one of my friends. He had only one key. It has remote button but did not work, so I replaced the battery. Still does not work. The other rhing is that I can mot open the trunk from inside becyase it is locked by the key and the inside swith lever does not open it. I tried to use the key I have but it does not do anything. Third the Security lite is off. Please give me any hits to fix these problems. Thanks,
  14. Anyone has experience with this Freeze-12? If I use the conversion kit, what else to do to put this gas? Thanks. Google is our friend... http://freeze12.net/ http://freeze-12.com/ I have been reading on Google and the site you mentioned but not enough info to relate to LS400. Do you have any experience in this or have read anywhere else? Thanks.
