  2. Hi Mayra, Good work! I love putting miles on my GS400. Here in Oregon it's pretty easy. Out the door and there's the open road. I have lots of time and routinely do about 2,000 fun miles a month. Just turned 370,000. Would like to get 500,000. We'll see. I know the car can do it. Roll On! Bob S. Eugene, OR
  3. 1998 GS400 - 352,000 miles - Owned since new - Perfect - Service Dept's best friend - Why fly when you can drive a car like this - Keeping it actively on the road is fun and less $$$ then a new car. V8's have become rare, and this one is a keeper! - Eugene, OR
  4. 1998 GS 400 - 260,000 miles - Bought new - Eugene, OR. - My Dealer friends probably won't even run the new GS past me., and I probably won't ask about it. - V-8 rules - My GS 400 is "me".
  5. 1998 GS400 267,000 miles. "mature" owner / driver. Don't want car to sound like an old Chevy pickup, but something to complement the great intake sound , and counteract the gray (white) hair as the car and I are now senior citizens. Just do it??? or is there some real reason not to install the Borla exhaust?? Thanks, Power Pack Eugene, Oregon
  6. Yikes! Don't mean to laugh. Just put it in low, floor it (AWD) and go. Keep it in 3 or 4th gear. Our '04 RX330 won't hold 5th gear in a wind going across Wyoming. Good luck! Jetstream - Eugene, OR.
  7. 1998 GS400 - Bought new - * 234,000 Miles * - No drama, just fast, reliable, ageless. Jetstream - Eugene, OR.
  8. 1998 GS400 - 215,000 miles - Original Owner - As new! - Eugene, OR.
  9. * 1998 Lexus GS400 175,000 miles. Pulled 152 mph. I-70 Western CO. Nearby local road, able to top out around 145 before lifting and slowing without braking. About once a month to "blow out the carbon" which was popular saying when I was a teenager some time ago. "In order to win the race, you have to finish." Pick your time and place carefully!! Power Pack Eugene, OR.
  10. My '98 GS400 with 175,000 miles is not effective in snow, and certainly not on ice, which we get in the Pacific Northwest because salt isn't permitted and sand is used sparingly. This is hill and mountain country, not for the timid or reckless. 2nd car is AWD with 4 Nokian Studded Snow Tires on dedicated wheels. Pricey but only way to go in a safe fashion. Next best way is staying home in front of a crackling HD TV Fireplace. Jetstream Eugene, OR.
  11. * You will "love" it! Have my "98 GS400 since new, 170,000 miles, it's perfect, fast, relatively good gas mileage, (depending on right foot) and it looks great. Enjoy your new ride. Bob S. - Eugene, OR.
  12. * 149 MPH * Have topped out numerous times, and "that's it" which is fine with me. "It's not how fast you drive, it's how you drive fast!" Power Pack
  13. Have the same situation with my '98 GS400. HID Right side. Same response from local Dealer. $$$$$. (see my post under GS400.) Another club member recommended the blow dryer too, but I haven't tried it yet. Not sure of what the long term effect will be if I just leave it since the center of the light is clear and night lighting seems to be appropriate. Curious what you do?
  14. Try using a blow dryer on it and see if it evaperates the water on the inside then figure out a way to seal the leak so it doesn't happen again Thanks! That thought crossed my mind but was concerned that lens might crack. Think I'll let my wife do it. She handles those contraptions better then I do.
