  1. Does anyone know WHERE the actual Speed Sensor Unit is? Could it just be UNPLUGGED so those of us afraid of wire cutting could do this too? ← The sensor you speak of has several uses not just for the DVD so it cannot be removed, if you did your cars computer would laugh at you. I'm working on this problem with a few advances but nothing worth posting yet. I will post any positive findings. BTW, there will be a charge of $500 bucks for this info. Kidding!!!! :whistles: I will post for free :)
  2. I'm working on how to remove the safety features, so far with no luck. To by-pass the parking break is a no brainer, however the motion sensor is a tuffy. Once I find a way I will post. BTW, removing the unit will be nessasary. After a few hours I learned how, Its not that hard.
  3. I Now have 2k on my 2006 GS430 and I must say WOW!!! what a great car. I've had not one problem. Just like the last 10 Lexus cars I have owned. I also looked at the BMW 5 and M45. The BMW is ugly inside and looks cheep and I hear they have lots of down time. The M45 I would pick over the BMW only because the inside is nice and its a Jap car and we all know they build nice cars. The outside of the M is to me a little ugly. Resale, Lexus cant be beat. It was a little pricey tho, $58,330 loaded. Ouch!!! Good luck.
  4. If when you say "fighting" and you mean does the car sway from side to side (tire stear) the answer depends on how wide you go on the front. I have 20 by 9 on the front on my 2006 GS430 and used the same wheels on a 2002 GS430 and yes the car tinds to drift at times depending on the road im on but not bad enuff that I would say it drives me crazy. On my 2002 hitting a bump in the road was very hard but on my new car it not as bad at all, they must be using better suspinson In summery, the ride will change, no dout, but since your going to a 19 it wont be as bad as 20's I would think all the chicks looking at you and the car will make you forget about the stiffer ride. hehe
  5. My son and I did our 2002 GS430. It was a pice of cake. As for how much A shop will charge Im not sure. If your friend has the tool to compress the springs and the tool to pop the ball joints its easy. Dont forget you will need a wheel alingment after you drop it or your tires will wear out on the inside real fast like :cries:
  6. Glad to hear your going to join our Lexus family (hell I sound like a sales man YIKES!!!) To put it simply, The 400 is faster then the 300 and the 400 ride is a little stiffer or sporty. Ive owned both and would buy the 400 only because I like speed! Ither one you buy Im sure you will be happy. I have some Lowenheart 20" BR5's I might sell ya if you want. I paid 6k with the tires for them. They wont fit on my 2006 GS430, darn it..... :cries:
  7. I personally love the new GS & would like to see one in my driveway at some point. Having said that, I'm personally not a fan of buying a car in it's first year of production as some 'kinks' usually need to be worked out of a new model. Have a look at local dealers & private listings to get an idea of what your RX is worth or try www.kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book). ← LexusFreak, I would agree with you on most cars not to buy the first year, like a chevy, no way Jose, but not with a Lexus. They do from what I hear 100000000000 miles on all there new models before they are released to the public. Plus its a Lexus, that in its self should be enuff :) I bought the new GS430 and I love it. Only problem is when you buy a new model you will more then likey pay sticker for the first several months.
  8. Ft. lauderdale. The tires are Dunlop SP Sport 2030 size 245/40R18 93Y Made a mistake, when I said I looked at the imports I ment German cars.
  9. That fix was for the LX470. Not the same for all units. Wont work on the GS430 the wires are not the same.
  10. case you didnt know, If your using a seperate amp just for your sub and your using your stock radio you dont need to run rca's from the radio back to the trunk, you can buy an adaptor that runs from your sub wires when you remove your sub speaker to your amp. I found this out the hard way after I ran rca's all the way from the radio. Duh!
  11. Bought my 2006 GS430 about 6 weeks ago, she now has 1100 miles on her. She’s fully loaded except for the radar. First off I thought the price was a bit high but hey you only live once right? The quality is second to none. I too was looking at the imports and they don’t compare if you know what your looking at. The ride is second to none, I love the sport option when I’m in the mood to race around town. There is quite a difference when you change the shock settings. Using the sequential shift is Fun! Fun! Fun! And there’s more then enough power to kick some butt! As for the sound, if you get the Mark Levinson system its awesome! The 5.1 surround sound is Great! The DVD picture is nice, just wish the parking brake and motion system could be deactivated so my family could watch DVD’s when going on a trip. I’m still looking into that. As for the wheels the stock 18" ers are very nice, I would not upgrade to the spoke if you ask me. The only bad thing I could say about this car is the tire noise, its rather annoying at high speeds on worn asphalt, Ill change the tires one day. I could easyly say a lot more good things about this car but gotta run. Good Luck with your new car, I’m sure you will be happy!!!
  12. check E-Bay, pretty sure I've seen disc for sale of Hawaii.
  13. Same here, did a search with no luck . URL would be nice. Thanks!
  14. I never ever used prim in my 2002 gs430 and never ever had any pings, problems, etc. In my new 2006 GS430 I was told by someone who knows I should use prim every other tank full or go half reg and half prim. Most likley ill use the cheep stuff cause a Lexus is made so fine she dont care what I feed her!!! :chairshot:
