  1. As the old adage goes, a picture says 1000 words . . . Perhaps if we start posting the photos Lexus will finally take responsibility for the defect.
  2. No luck on my end to date. I have started taking pictures of other white GX470s for a photo campaign. I am amazed at the number of white GX 470 vehicles that I've found with paint peeling problems. It's quite evident from my observations that Lexus has a plethora of unhappy owners who are experiencing the same issue. The fight continues.
  3. Thank you for the words of encouragement. This is the second new Lexus I have purchased from this dealer. I was surprised by his actions.
  4. I own a white 2004 GX470. It was purchased new from the dealer in July 2004. The paint on the hood and bumper began to chip after 3 years. The dealership touched up the chips during the warranty period. The chipping continued. Shortly after the warranty expired, the dealership's contracted paint shop told me that the continued chipping was due to bad primer used on the vehicle at the factory. The shop said they had never seen a Lexus do this before. There were chips down to the primer measuring 3-4 inches in diameter. The dealership refused to fix the damage and blamed Lexus. Lexus Corp. also refused to fix the damage and stated I would have to file an appeal and go through arbitration. Has anybody experienced this issue or scenario? Help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have a 2004 GX 470 that is experiencing the same problem with paint pealing. I bought the vehicle new. It was a special order with white paint. Sounds like a recall is in order. Anybody have any updated info. on this? Thanks.
