  1. I suppose at some time or another, the coil(s) are certainly going to need replacing. However, I've gone through the whole procedure of plugging in the code reader, seeing what cylinder is misfiring, interpreting the code to be a coil, and replacing it. But now after about 10 thousand miles, the check engine light goes on again and it's the same code. The coil again. i know if I replace it, it will run just fine but I feel it indicates an additional problem elswhere. Anyone out there ever had that problem or know the reason for this?
  2. I sure hope someone answers your question because I have the same problem. This aftermarket antenna only has a red, green and a white pigtail. the original has, well..more. I've tried every combination and none work. I have a shop manual that says the wire that is black and white on the original plug is the gnd wire (two rows of wires, top row only has one wire, wire just below is gnd.) as a test, the manual tells to connect all wires except the bk/wht. to power, the blk/wht to ground which should raise the mast. I get nothing. Keep in mind that in order to perform this test, I had to cut and splice the wires in the original plug. I'm considering spending the bucks and getting the oem antenna unless someone has already solved this problem.....HELP!
  3. Well, finally was able to find the knock sensor(s). Did the appropriate diagnostic tests only to find that they were both ok. which wasn't good news because that meant I had look further, I tested the EFI relay to be bad so I ordered that. While I'm waiting for all the parts, I finished disassembing in preparation for the timing belt and all the other drive belts. One question I have for you or anyone who would know: If you rotate a pulley for either cam 180 deg. from intake tdc, does that take you to exhaust tdc? and how do you tell if you are at tdc intake in the first place? Thanks in advance
  4. Seems that I have't finished disasssembly. I haven't removed the intake manifold which would account for not being able to view the knock sensors. I'll keep posting my progression.
  5. whth the same knock sensor problems, I disassembled my 1999 rx300 as per the advice of contributors and the large shop manual for a 2002'. After closer inspection, I simply can't see or find the knock sensors. Is it remotely possible that mine doesn't have knock sensors?
