  1. Thanks. Hope it gets better as time goes. Anyway, I am bringing in the car to service this Saturday to see if something is wrong with it. The very reason we sold our 2001 330CI is that that car gave us 14 MPG. It could just be our bad luck. I read some folks on fuelefficiency.org say they are getting 29 MPG on RX450H. Well, it depends on your luck, as every car is built differently. Richard
  2. Hi All, I have had this car for about two and a half months. So far, I put 880 miles on it. Both the caluclated and digital display indicate 21.7-21.9 MPG combined. The purported MPG is 30-32 MPG. I understand some people may have 25.5 MPG combined, but my less-than-22 MPG is not anywhere near the 30-32 MPG claim. FYI, I drive in the city 90% of time. The round trip from home and work is about 12-13 miles. I paid $6-7K more, hoping to get better fuel efficiency than RX 350. Is there anything I can do to improve the fuel economy? FYI, I am not heavy on the gas pedal. Who shall I contact in Lexus Corporation for this complaint? Thanks for any suggestions in advance, Leatherck (Richard) Update from 10/23/2010: I brought the car to dealer for service today. I told them the average MPG is only 21.3. The guy asked me what's the mileage on it? I told him it was about 950. He said it was too early to tell, as we should wait around 5000 miles for the car to "break in", so I cancelled the service today... will break it back in a few months when it reaches 5000k. He said a few years back a guy with 2006 RX??? brought back the car with the same complaint. After 5000k, he was happy about the fuel efficiency. I hope it will make a difference then. I don't expect it will ever achieve average 28-29 MPG as most people mentioned on edmunds.com. If it reaches 26 MPG, I would be very happy, given the fact that I live in San Francisco, with 12 miles round trip to work, and lots of traffic jams.
