We deliberately do not issue email notifications when replies are made to posts.
This is because of the huge amount of emails that get generated using this processing - as you post in more threads, you will receive more and more emails.
This rapidly becomes very annoying.
Instead, we provide flexible forum software that gives you three ways for you to control whether you receive email notifications or not.
For specific discussions
If there is a specific discussion you wish to track, then you can set email notification for that discussion only.
Scroll down to the bottom of the thread, you will see
Track this topic
Receive email notification when a reply has been made to this topic and you are not active on the board.
Click on the track this topic link, and you will be notified by email everytime someone replies to this discussion.
For specific forums
If you want to receive an email notification every time someone posts a new topic in a forum (for example in the forum that discuss your Lexus model), then you can subscribe to that forum.
Open up any post in the forum you wish to subscribe to, and scroll to the bottom of the post. You will see the text
Subscribe to this forum
Receive email notification when a new topic is posted in this forum and you are not active on the board.
Click on the Subscribe to this forum link, and you will automatically recieve email notifiations of all new discussions started in that forum.
Please note that this will not email you for replies to those discussions, only when the new discussion is started.
If a new discussion is started that you wish to track by email, then you should track that topic (as explained above)
Global Email Notifications
If you decide that you want to recieve email notifications of replies to all discussions you have posted in, then you can turn on global email notifications.
In the member bar, just below the logo, you will see a link that says My Controls (top right hand corner)
Click that link, then on the resulting control panel screen, read down the options on the left hand side of the screen, and click on the Email Settings link under Options.
This screen allows you to completely specify how the forums can email you.
Please note that as we do not send any emails by default, any emails you receive from the forums will have been dictated by your own preferences - they are not spam.
