Hey all lexus owners.

I seem to be having a problem with my 06 GS300 AWD Navigation system. A friend was fideling with the navi. and now i cant get " Please insert correct disk" off the screen. Can get to main screen but not menu. The disk itself is in. Do i need a restart or something?

make sure the disk is inserted and unlug the battery terminals for about an hour or so and put them back on. That might do it. Good Luck

No luck. Still the same message. Is there a reset DVD or a reset mode of some sort ?. Funny thing is that even Lexus service has no idea what to do. Said they will change the navi. At my cost.

Your "friend" may have made a seriously inappropriate change on a hidden service menu ... e.g. selected another geographic area of the world. I have read that sometimes the only solution is to replace to replace the navigation unit.

I am reporting only what I have read in other threads and do not remember anyone reporting that they tried a disk from another geographic area. Assuming that AUS = Australia and not Austria, I checked and there are Australian Lexus DVD disks on ebay but they are expensive: http://cars.shop.ebay.com.au

It is possible that the Australian disks are not compatible with your nav system due to the region code being different.

Hmm well his gone buy the disk then rolleyes.gif . About the region problem i was thinking the same thing but read on a EU forum it was just a matter of connecting up the right region DVD reader.

Can not understand why Lexus made such a dumb system that can be messed up.
