Lexus Owners Club (USA & Canada) > Lx 470 Gps Unit Not Reading Disc

Hello. I have a 2002 LX 470 and the GPS Nav says it can't read the disc. The disc appears fine. The unit info is:

nav ecu part #86841-50010... I can get a replacement unit for about $1,200, but I'm wondering if it might be as simple as the laser lens inside the unit being dirty? Has anyone had any luck with a Laser Lens cleaner (disc you insert that is supposed to clean the laser lens inside)?

Don't know, but maybe you can borrow someone's disc to see if that could be the problem? I think my "gen" is different from yours...

Just search past threads. There is a shop that repairs the factory dvd unit located under the passenger seat for around $400. You will have to remove it and ship it in but they are legitimate and quick.
