I am attempting to tune up my 1998 GS300. The location and replacement of the plugs is new to me. Can someone give me some direction on how to find and change the plugs? I am accustomed to tuning up american cars but this one is really different. Also, is it necessary to swap out the timing chain. The car has 1117,000 miles on it but it runs great.

Does this model also require iridium plugs?

I used the iridium plugs, I figured there was an engineering reason for Lexus to specify them. I farmed that job out to a local independent shop with Lexus experience and a good reputation. There are how to guides on the web though.

Thanks Hinsdale,

Any idea on where I might find the repair guides you refer to on the web?
