Hi,

I have a Lexus RX 350 [2008]. I parked the car in my garage the other day and turned it off and I walked into the house. About 8 hours later, I went in the garage to get one of my tools and the lexus started making a wierd noise. It sounded like an electric blower motor or something similar to an electric motor turning. I could not pinpoint where it was coming from. The noise lasted for about 4 - 5 minutes and stoped. The car had been sitting in my garage turned off for over 8 hours.

This has happened before. Does anyone have any idea what this noise is?

Could be the pump that checks for leaks in the EVAP system. You should hear all the funny noises the RX400h makes after it's shut off.

Indeed: the manual mentions that a pump may turn on quite some time after the motor is turned off. I thought it was 1/2 hr. to 2 hrs. (from memory), but you should check in the manual.

And you might call the service rep at the Lexus dealership. I bet they hear about this all the time.
