Ok, so thats not exactly wat happened. My key got scooped up from a table at work and got thrown in the garbage. I found it the next day. There was water in the bag , and now the key doesnt work. The light wont even blink. I tried taking the key apart but couldnt get past the battery. ANyone ever had this problem. ANyways its a 2001 is300 key.

Welcome to the LOC.

You need a new key. They are programmed to the code in the ECU. It's going to cost you more than you want to spend, but that's the price of security with the ease of remote control today. You may want to start with the dealer. That's going to be the easiest route, but not the least expensive by far.

Here is a place you can buy a new key for $154, they will cut the key for you but you'll have to get it programmed to your car by a dealer.
