Full Version: Names On Lexus Vehicle Lines

We recently purchased an IS 250. I understand the "250" denotes the engine size(?), but wondering what the IS means - as well as GS, ES, LS, SC, RX, etc. Didn't see anything on the Lexus website - anyone here know?

"Intelligent Sport" and the engine is actually 2.5 liters - 204 horsepower
