Have a 2006 GX470 with navigation and entertainment system. Just got back from a road trip and now have noticed an annoying noise whenever I start or stop. Guessing my daughter dropped a small bead or marble inside the center console through the opening where the cover doors recess for the DVD/storage area. Is there a piece that snaps off easily with a putty knife to provide access to look inside?

Good question. Since you do have a 2006 model, I would suggest that you should just bring it into the dealer and have them check it out under warranty so that they'll open it up and remove the bead or whatever that is down there.

Went to the dealer and they said it would cost $135 to take apart the console. Anyone else know whether it is easy to snap off a piece (hopefully one that will also snap back on) that will allow me to look inside for the annoying bead?

Serious, I know of no easy access panel in the center concole.
