I was told by the a/c shop that the evaporator has a leak. They quoted me a estimate of $1500.00, saying they have to remove the dash. Im pretty handy, im thinking of doing the repair my self. Looking for a few pointers.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm looking to replace the evap core in a 93 GS.

I just had my 98 ls400 evaporator changed by an AC shop due to a leak.
Totla came to 475$ .

They did remove part of the dash. They weree not a lexus specialty shop so I am pretty sure
that it is not that disfficult a job. It only took them 4 hours to so the job.
