I've noticed the ads that run on top of my screen, resemble my activity on the web, and things I've said on here. For example: I'm a big fan of Johnson Lexus of Raleigh, but haven't been to their site in a long time. Yet, I have the Johnson Lexus of Raleigh ad on my screen. Another example is that I was just on a house painting and repairing website, then came over here to check in....and there were a bunch of local ad's for home repair on my screen...... What gives? How are you guys doing that??

I believe those ads are from Google, and they're based on searches the automated Google bot makes on the threads you're currently reading and such like that.

No spyware that I'm aware of, and I monitor my computer for it.

It is part of Intelli searches and all the crap.
I use FireFox coupled with ad-block which gets rid of all ads and iframes on lots of site. it saves tons of time loading garbage files ,pics and ads.

On the ad thing. By the same token if you go to Google and search on a subject you've discussed here, the search is likely to turn up a post or posts from LOC, maybe even your posts.

thats because google spiders us daily and the results can sometimes be placed on google withn a few hours. It figures we are trusty and the content is trusty so adds it to its index very quickly.
