  1. I think you are dreaming. I have both a LS400 and a SC400. I have had ALL the common problems on both of them. I think your 1/20 estimate is wishful thinking. As you might suspect, I am not as impressed with Lexus' claimed "relentless pursuit of perfection" as most. 75,000 miles now, still not one problem to date! :P
  2. Here's my FAQ: http://www.intellexual.net B)
  3. New alternators aren't too expensive at all. Rebuilding one can vary on the damage type and extent. You can have a higher current alternator installed if you want, but I don't see the purpose....
  4. Actually I've never experienced any of the common SCx00 problems: power steering pump leakage, dead needles, loose door hinge, climate control display failure, or headlight condensation. I guess I've just been lucky so far. Even though these are the most common problems with the Soarer, it only probably occurs 1 out of 20 times or less, and you most likely will not suffer more than one of these failures.
  5. No such thing, I believe you'll have to purchase new wheels. Auto Couture, HRE, and L-Sportline make some savage !Removed! wheels for the SC430. Don't cheap out on wheels, you drive a $60,000+ Lexus.
  6. Those are extremely expensive because the guy converted the lighting system over to LED. They could otherwise be around ~$300 for the pair. Just get the 97+ tail lights. They are sooo much better than the 92-94s and fit like a shoe. You will have to buy a voltage module or a resistor to correct the rear light indicator which will flash because of an extra bulb included in the 95+ models, but that is no big deal at all.
  7. This has been covered before... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/search.php...rder=descending
  8. Swift Racing Team makes a supercharger for your 4.3liter V8 3UZ-FE, but I'm not sure if it fits under your hood.
  9. That link was broken for me, but that is Clint's SC300TT, 765rwhps. It's eaten the 800hps HKS Supra, Hennessy Venom 500R Viper, RX7TT, Chevy Cyclone, Cobra Mustangs, etc... He's building an even faster, meaner SC300 powered by a T78 (?) single turbo. Over 1000hps projected. He's going to be in the One Lap of America Race featured by www.turboimports.com . He posts under the handle SC300TT at Club Lexus if you want ot contact him.
  10. I'm not sure what the impedance is. When I installed my stereo, I tore everything out and used my own amps and speakers. If you're unsure, there should be an ohm rating on your stock amps to go by. If all else fails, just use 4 ohm nominal speakers.
  11. The fronts and back CAN fit 6.5 inch midrange drivers. You'll need to mount them custom in front, I recommend an MDF baffle to give you good tight midrange response, but you can just drill it into the door if you want. The rears are the same dinky 4-inch drivers as the front. But again, it is easy to slide in 6.5s. I highly recommend you going for 6.5s. Six inch midrange drivers have inherantly better acoustic properties as well as deeper midbass excursion. I would also recommend you going with component speakers, not coaxial. It's all about high fidelity. :) The sub is a free-air design. You can swap it out with MOST aftermarket free air subs, but some of them like certain Pioneer free airs have deep voice coils and won't clear the gas tank below the rear dash. The JL Audio 10IB4 will fit according to some crude measurements I took a while back.
  12. What's up hellasboy, took me a second to figure out Slowly but steadily familiar faces are poppin' up :D
  13. No takers? I will be racing my friend's 1997 328i and another 1996 318i soon. Hopefully I can take the 328.
  14. Which cars have you guys found a stock SC400/SC300 5-speed can take stock for stock? IE: BMW 328i? MB C230 Kompressor?
