  2. So I just bought myself a 2005 LS430 after a few years of searching. I've had it a little over a month and I absolutely love it. However, over the last couple days, I've noticed my tail lights coming on for seemingly no reason. First time I noticed, I thought it was just a trick of the light, as the sun was getting low and figured it was just the sun hitting my lights just right to give the illusion of them being on. Fast forward to this morning; I had to leave earlier than usual for work, so around 4:45am, came out my front door, and low and behold, clear as day, my tail lights are on (not brake lights, just tail lights, and literally nothing else). My first thought was "uh oh, did I leave my lights on all night?" Which I was all but certain I hadn't. After confirming they were in fact off, next thing I checked was my brake pedal. Didn't seem anything out of the ordinary, but just to see, I tried gently lifting it off it's rest point, to no result. Kicker was that, unbeknownst to me at that moment, as soon as I hit my keyless entry, lights immediately went off. Upon discovering the lights were off, I went to work like normal. Fast forward another hour or so, I get a message from a co-worker saying my tail lights are on. So now I know there's clearly an issue. After a quick search online, I couldn't find much, but I did find something about a possible ECU in the trunk, or 'luggage room' as was described on the website. When I returned to my car after my delivery, the tail lights were on again. So I decided to test something; I hit the unlock on my keyless entry, and then waited. As soon as I hit the button, lights went off. Then, after around 30 seconds, they came back on. Then tried the lock button, same result. So fast forward again to the end of my work day: I go run some errands real quick and head home. When I got home, my first instinct was to pop the truck to make sure no water was getting into places it shouldn't, and thankfully found no evidence of that. But the lights would still come on after about 30 seconds of hitting a button on my keyless entry. Now for the real interesting part: after feeling stumped, I popped the hood, as I was going to disconnect the battery to make sure it wouldn't drain, I had to run inside to grab my tools, so I closed the hood, ran in, and when I got back, the lights were off, and staying off. I've been home for about 45 minutes now, and keep checking regularly, and they haven't come back on yet (knock on wood). Any ideas as to what the issue could be? I've seen potential for it to be something as minor as a fuse to as major as a wiring harness. Any suggestions or ideas would be a hug help, thanks!
  3. Have a 2004 RX330. What is the Torque/Tightening Order for the (9) Rear Valve Cover bolts? Any schematic out there?
  4. Report this to NHTSA as a safety and security issue. Lexus not sharing all the info, campaign is no longer listed on the app. I think they are trying to stuff the digital key down our throats, glitchy and unsafe as it is. Its all about profit.......
  5. My GX470 had the following Codes come on this morning. Flashing check engine, The VSC, TRAC, or trailer sway control system is operating if the slip indicator light is flashing. If the indicator light is fully illuminated there is a malfunction in the VSC system, TRAC system, hill-start assist control system, or trailer sway control, and you should have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus service provider immediately. This warning light indicates a malfunction in the electronic engine control system, the electronic throttle control system, or the electronic automatic transmission control system. Whenever this light turns on you should have your vehicle inspected immediately by your Lexus dealer. What does this mean? Enter You sent
  6. I have a 2024 NX350H and I haven't noticed undue pressure needed. It does have to be pressed a fair bit -- probably much more than what it takes for the brake lights. Have you done a distance measure of the brake pedal to see the difference between brake lights and shifting? I'll have to check mine.
  7. I am really interested in great car audio. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to set the treble, bass and midrange as well as how to balance the speakers to get the best sound from the driver's seat?

  10. What are the Possible Causes of the DTC P1127 Lexus? NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes. Faulty Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator harness is open or shorted Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) Actuator circuit poor electrical connection Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1127_lexus.html It may be that locating the specific cause is not exactly simple for the doityourselfer.
  11. Report to NHTSA as a safety and security concern. Digital key is not the answer - just more revenue/profit for Lexus ar our expense.

  14. My Lexus rx300 is immaculate only done 47000,full service history ,showroom condition inside and out ,been unused for 15 years due too illness, car used once a week for local shopping it’s mint condition, still new too look at,2002 first registered, timing belt done by Lexus only about 1000 miles ago, because of cars age, brake pads are renewed, good for 150.000 miles, would swop for Bentley, you won’t buy a better car then mine,
  15. I have a 2014 gs350 fsport, rwd & am replacing all 4 pads & rotors & was looking for a recommendation. I've done tons of research on Amazon, eBay, forums, etc. im getting mildly overwhelmed w all the did things I've read.
  16. It looks like this sound was not present when you bought the vehicle? Is your RX still under warranty? If there is a Toyota-equivalent vehicle, then typically the service cost would be less expensive than at a Lexus dealership. I've had our spark plugs and coolant changed at our local Toyota dealership. Its reduction in cost for the maintenance tasks were significant.
  17. I bought my SC400 about 4 days ago. When I bought it, it was starting good and running pretty well for a 1993. Only 150k Miles on her. In between that time the car alarm did go off when I was trying to unlock her, so it made me think about anti-theft. So When I try to start it the light cluster turns on, just no crank, No start. at first I thought it was the starter so I tested it by jumping the starter relay, but no when I have the key in on and jump the starter relay she starts right up and runs pretty well. She is kinda sluggish. Which is a whole other thing. Just need some opinions.
  18. Hello all, even though that is an old topic ( sulfur smell inside the vehicle), I would like to know whether a solution has been found by any of you. I found the leak on both sides of the center console ( between the front seats), and Im sure of it because there are white residue prints on both side of the plastic side cover and the carpet under it smell the same. In my case, I dont drive above 2000rpm, and mostly is noticeable when I park the vehicle for some time and close the windows. What is strange is that no smell is present when you stat next to the vehicle, but once you open the door, it is hitting you in the nose directly. Thanks in advance!
  19. Thanks. I replaced the battery and the charge was covered by Lexus, although I have been unable to confirm if the battery was bad (long story). In the final analysis, either the battery was bad or the charging mechanism (alternator or otherwise) wasn't working. If the former is the case, then the problem has been solved (hopefully). If the latter, either that is a significant engineering defect or I need some direction on how to keep the 12 V charged. The question is whether the 12 v battery charges while the car is on EV mode. If the 12 V runs down after every few hundred miles, then that is not sustainable and if there is something in my driving habits (such as operating almost exclusively on EV mode) that needs to change, it would be useful to know. In the meantime, I am getting jumper cables. Until this happened, I had no idea that these were necessary for a PHEV.
  20. Hi. I’m having the same issue. Did you ever figure out what harness is needed?
  21. Hello I was wondering did you find out what that part was broken in your vehicle because my daughter have the same situation?
